Recipe idea: Bread and saltFor this you will need the following ingredients:

1 pack dry yeast, 1 tsp sugar, 4 tbsp lukewarm water, 350 g wheat flour, 100 g rye flour, 2 tsp salt, some bread spice, 280 ml lukewarm water, some coarse salt and wheat flour for dough processing

Step 1

Mix the dry yeast together with sugar and a tablespoon of wheat flour. Then add four tablespoons of lukewarm water and mix thoroughly until a paste forms. Leave this paste to rest for 15 minutes. In a bowl, mix the remaining flour together with salt and bread seasoning. Add the yeast mixture and 280 ml lukewarm water, and knead everything into a smooth dough with the dough hooks of a hand mixer for 5 minutes. Then cover the dough and leave to rest for approximately 15 minutes.

Step 2

Dust the countertop with some flour, knead the dough, and form into a ball. Place this onto a baking tray lined with baking paper and cover, leaving it to rest for approximately 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 230 degrees (fan oven: 210 degrees Celsius). Place an ovenproof dish filled with water on the oven floor. Bake the bread for about 30 minutes and then leave it to cool on a cooling rack.

Step 3

Now hand over the housewarming gift personally, carefully wrapped. For example, with a homemade paper banderole, a decorative ribbon or a rosemary sprig.
