Classic kitchens reinterpreted

The 1920s inspire also the 2020s. We call the further development of the Art déco style New Classic. Typical of Art déco is a clear, geometric design language, which had its heyday during the twenties in Paris. Matisse, Picasso or George Braque are rightly still celebrated artists and aesthetes today. The elegant interplay of clear form, color and surface is at the forefront. This results in an extraordinary, distinctive design that stands out and remains memorable. The New Classic style world offers functionality and living comfort for kitchen life, combined with a touch of nostalgia.
Style-defining elements
The Neue Klassik includes further details highlighting the distinctive character of the kitchens without appearing rustic:
- Handleless glass doors for base, wall and side cabinets impress with an extraordinary frame design featuring an attractive double structure.
- Bronze-coloured tinted glass, perfectly harmonizing with the frame, further enhances the elegant impression.
- Classic handles, too, rely on clear design language – sometimes oval featuring a matching subtle interplay of lines, sometimes entirely straightforward.
- Graphic cornice profiles, streamlined lighting pelmets and pilasters with subtle fluting for an elegant side finish represent purism.
- Base plinth elements, giving cabinets the appearance of freestanding furniture, also contribute to their distinctive look.
Which fronts and other components from the Nolte Küchen range can be ideally combined to achieve the Neue Klassik style? Here are some tips and suggestions:
Clear design language
The TORINO LACK impresses with its subtle style and clear shaping. Additionally, it convinces with its soft matt lacquered surface and the striking graphic design with the offset frame. As part of the Nolte Küchen Mattlack concept, it is available in 19 colours.

The Bronze Age of Today
With surfaces in manganese bronze, you pick up the metallic theme again. This way, you integrate glass doors, handles and fittings. Glass shelves and interior lighting create a strikingly modern impression.

Handles, drawers & Co.
Fit perfectly into the overall look: base units with drawers in scoop-optics and circular recessed handles.

Kitchen island squared
Another distinctive feature are solid wood drawers. Handleless and reduced to the essentials, they create accents between the lacquered fronts, emphasizing the horizontal lines—not only on the kitchen island.

Cultivated Contrasts
The New Classic thrives on harmonious contrasts. Wood also plays an important role. The two colors Eiche Pinot and Eiche Barolo can also be used for wall-mounted shelves or cross inserts (wall cabinet).
