Functionality and aesthetics combined

A decision aid for your kitchen planning

Test EN

When planning or renovating your new kitchen, the choice of front materials plays a crucial role. The fronts not only determine the aesthetic appearance but are also decisive for the kitchen's functionality and durability. Genuine materials such as wood, metal, lacquer or cement are the perfect choice for kitchen enthusiasts with very high standards. However, for many genuine materials, there are also high-quality reproductions available which are in no way inferior to the authentic originals.

Why is the choice of material for kitchen fronts so important?

The fronts significantly determine the look and thus the ambiance of the entire kitchen. Wooden fronts appear natural and cozy, while lacquer fronts create a modern and exclusive atmosphere. It is essential to choose a kitchen front that you will still appreciate after several years. Although replacing fronts is possible, it involves time and additional costs.

It is best to examine front samples at a kitchen dealer or kitchen studio. Here, touching is not only permitted but desirable, as feeling the surfaces triggers individual tactile sensations. Some prefer the warmth and authentic grain of wood, while others favor smooth surfaces like glass or stainless steel.

We introduce various options to make deciding on your kitchen fronts a little easier. The materials are not only aesthetically pleasing but also take your budget into consideration.

Authentic Metal

Real metal fronts lend the kitchen a distinct authenticity: Several layers of a mixture consisting of metal particles, resins, and paint are applied to a wood-based panel substrate and sealed with a clear lacquer. The result is additionally impressive due to its magnetic properties. The FERRO Blaustahl, with its real metal front, creates an impression of cool elegance, which acquires a bright and light touch through the combination with SOFT LACK in Arcticweiß softmatt.

Kitchen front in cement

The feel of this surface is achieved by irregular indentations in a wood-based panel. It is then manually coated with cement, silica and coloured lacquer, and subsequently sealed additionally with a clear lacquer. Robust beauty for especially high-contrast combinations.

Genuine lacquer: high gloss or soft matt

High-gloss genuine lacquer fronts are lacquered multiple times and then polished to achieve a closed and particularly smooth surface. In addition to high-gloss fronts, there are fronts with soft matt genuine lacquer. The latter impress with their interesting tactile properties.

The most important criteria at a glance

Colour selection: The choice of kitchen fronts influences the appearance for many years. Therefore, consider whether the current trend colour will appeal in the long term, or if a simpler variant is the better choice. Alternatively, you can use your favourite colour as an accent by designing only individual cabinets in this tone.

Maintenance effort: An important aspect is how easily the surfaces can be cleaned and whether they are waterproof. While synthetic fronts, stainless steel or glass are easy to clean, real wood fronts require regular care with oil to maintain their attractive appearance.

Durability: In households with small children, the kitchen must be robust enough to withstand impacts and wear. Sensitive materials such as glass or foil fronts are less suitable here. Durable synthetic laminate fronts are recommended in such cases. You can find our entire range of kitchen fronts in our Produktübersicht.

We wish you much enjoyment in your selection!

The all-rounder: laminate

A high-quality, soft matte laminate surface with anti-fingerprint properties, characterized by very high durability. The MANHATTAN front in Black Green is a real eyecatcher; in Sahara, MANHATTAN appears rather calm and understated.

Lacquer laminate: Stylish and Robust

An extremely smooth appearance and optimal resistance are characteristic for lacquer laminate. The fronts consist of a wood-based panel, whose coating has been lacquered during the production process. High-gloss or soft mat as per personal preference. The FEEL in platinum grey appears timelessly elegant in combination with a dark worktop and minimalist handles. The soft mat surface creates a calm, puristic overall impression.
