Community Kitchen of the Month June 2025

Modern Nolte kitchen in a bright design with cooking island, wooden worktop, bar stools and golden accents.

Golden moments in Johanna's kitchen

Johanna, 29, is our Community Kitchen winner in June. Together with her husband and cat Cooper, she has been living on her parents-in-law's farm since 2024 - in a home that she has designed to be bright, cozy and completely in line with her gut feeling.
The centerpiece: her Nolte kitchen. Light-colored fronts combined with golden accents create openness, elegance and warmth. Johanna is particularly proud of the display cabinet, which puts both crockery and small decorative elements in the right light.
This is where life happens: from having breakfast together and baking to social evenings with family and friends. For Johanna, her kitchen is not just practical, but the place where memories are made.

Please introduce yourself and tell us a bit about yourself.

I'm Johanna, 29 years old, a family person, a passionate amateur baker and, most of all, a hostess. Together with my husband and our cat Cooper - the real host n - I have been living in our new home since 2024. On Instagram I share under @johannaa_n_ I share insights into our life and our interior, which is always designed with a lot of heart.

What was particularly important to you when building the house in 2024 - and how did you implement your wishes?
As we were building at our parents-in-law's house, it was particularly important to us to create a home that felt like us and at the same time fit in with the surroundings. My husband has taken over the farm here and it was important to me that we have a retreat that is bright, friendly and cozy. We simply implemented our wishes according to our gut feeling - not according to trends, but the way we really like it.

What makes your new home special for you as a family?
It's a place where we can come together - in the middle of everyday life, between farm life and private life. What makes our home special is that we have created it together and many people come together here. Whether it's at breakfast, visiting friends or simply cuddling with Cooper - there's a lot of heart here.

Why did you choose a Nolte kitchen - what was it about the design, quality or functionality that particularly appealed to you?
We were won over by the mix of timeless design and high-quality workmanship. I wanted a kitchen that not only looked good, but also worked practically in everyday life with family and visitors. Nolte offered exactly that - a kitchen that is durable, well thought-out and stylish at the same time.

How did you decide on a light-colored kitchen with golden accents?
I really wanted a light-colored kitchen because it radiates openness and lightness for me. Golden accents add just the right amount of warmth and elegance. It shouldn't be "trendy", but simply what we like in the long term - and that's exactly how it feels.

What role does the display cabinet play in your kitchen - is it more decorative or functional?
The display cabinet was a dream come true for me. As our living room is upstairs, I wanted to make the kitchen even more homely. The display cabinet contains our most beautiful dishes, but also small decorative elements that make the room cozier. For me, it's the perfect combination of practical and decorative.

What does a typical day in your new home look like?
In the morning, we start with breakfast together in the kitchen - with Cooper in the middle of it, of course. Then it's off to work for my husband and back to everyday life for me. In the evening, the kitchen is the place where we come together again: I cook or bake, we talk about the day and sometimes family or friends come over. For us, this is pure quality of life.

Fine details: golden handles and light-colored fronts
Cozy sofa corner
Bedroom with calm: natural colors, clear shapes and lots of light

Which rooms do you most like to use together as a family - and why?
Clearly the kitchen! It's the heart of our home. I love cooking and baking, and it's simply where life happens - whether it's just the two of us or we have visitors. It's the room that connects us the most.

What would you perhaps do differently in the next building project?
I think we would plan a bit more storage space - you quickly realize how important that is, especially in the entrance area. Apart from that, we are simply very happy with what we have achieved.

Do you have any furnishing tips that are particularly helpful for young families?
Furnish your home the way you like it - not according to trends or constraints. It's your home, so it should reflect you. And: practical solutions for storage space are always worthwhile. But the most important thing is that you feel comfortable - even if something is left lying around or everyday life is visible.

What does life in the kitchen mean to you?
For me, the kitchen is the heart of our home - it's where we cook, bake, laugh, talk and sometimes even discuss. It's the place where we are close to each other and where memories are made. That's exactly why it's our favorite place.

Modern country house with Scandinavian lightness

Light colors, warm wooden elements and large windows create a friendly, natural atmosphere. Golden accents create stylish highlights and turn the kitchen into a place that is modern, cozy and timeless at the same time.

A cozy window seat to feel at home

The stylish window seat with a view of the greenery is one of Johanna's favorite spots. A true cozy reading nook and relaxation corner – perfect for unwinding, reading, or enjoying the moment with Cooper the cat. This detail makes their modern country home full of heart and personality.
