Nobody in the way, everything under control

To ensure that you and your loved ones don't get in each other's way in the kitchen, you should consider who uses the kitchen and how.
The two basic rules:
- The workflows between the three areas cooling/storage, cooking and washing should not be significantly more than two arm-lengths apart from each other.
- On the other hand, there should be enough space for multiple cooks.
What else you can consider when planning the walking paths?
Here are our tips:
Classic or triangle?
- If your kitchen consists of one row, arrange the classic areas side by side. If you have more generous space, a triangle layout is preferable.
Right or left?
- Is the main user right- or left-handed? That influences the sequence of operations in the kitchen. You should accordingly plan the working areas.
Distance please!
- Plan a minimum distance of 120 cm between kitchen rows. The depth of a countertop and the underlying kitchen cabinet should be at least 60 cm.
Sufficient workspace
- There should be at least 90 cm of space between stove and sink. For comfortable preparation, a working surface of 120 cm is ideal. Anything beyond: Super!
Cleverly stored
- It's best to keep important utensils near the cooktop, and food items close to the workspace.
