Kitchen talk with interior stylist Jasmin Hollemans

Behind the scenes at NOLTE FORUM

Jasmin Hollemans has been an interior stylist for over 30 years, including 20 years as stylist and accessoriser responsible at Nolte Küchen's show centre. She takes us on the journey from the planning and implementation stage right through to the finished, fully styled and accessorised showroom kitchen. She speaks to Eva Brenner about her ideas, inspiration and one or the other "last minute" changes. Discover the NOLTE FORUM from a whole new perspective!

A taste of Hollywood… even back then as a child!

Even as a child, Jasmin was inspired by design, creativity and versatility. Her mother worked in a photo studio, inspiring Jasmin to create sets and do styling shoots very early on... A little bit of Hollywood, as she says herself. In the same photo studio, Jasmin then trained as an interior stylist and learned, for instance, how to create different moods and make statements with light, furniture and colours. For many years now she has played a key part in helping the Nolte team to style our showroom kitchens and passionately describes the very trusting and inspiring work we do together.

A free hand with all manner of scope for creativity

Nolte's planning team of interior designers and architects lays the foundation for planning the display kitchens. This is the stage at which the new kitchen configurations are collated, defining all of the details to go on display. Everything in place, Jasmin Hollemans consults the planning team and gets a rough idea of her brief. She then lets her imagination run free to develop ways of staging and accessorising. And with huge success, as Eva Brenner agrees!

There are some things you just can't explain…

Taking an example project, Jasmin describes how she approaches her work in specific terms Once again, large pieces of furniture are discussed with the planning team, but she has a completely free hand when it comes to minor items, such as tableware, cutlery or fabrics. She produces mood boards that define an accessorised world for kitchens, and then gets to work, reflecting the style she likes to create. Her ideas are often intuitive, unexplainable. But she doesn't only plan, she also helps with setting everything up. Be carried away by Jasmine's passion.

Our expert's favourite

From all the wonderful kitchens to choose from, it's hard to pin down a favourite. Needless to say, though, Jasmin Hollemans has her personal favourite. Showing us her absolute number one choice, she tells us why she is particularly impressed by this particular composition. Eva Brenner is swept away by Jasmin's enthusiasm; and together they both indulge in their passion for interior design and styling.

Jasmin's own kitchen: where design and functionality meet on a level field

In her own kitchen, Jasmin attaches importance to a clean look and makes sure everyday routine takes place without a hitch. Influenced by so many impressions, getting planning decisions right is never easy. Yet hand in hand with Nolte's planning team, she always manages to find the perfect solution.

Planning a kitchen in a nutshell

Off the cuff and to the point, Jasmin Hollemans says what her kitchen would look like if she were to plan it today. She looks at high gloss and matt, country style, modern and even colourful or understated. And what would you go for?
