The right choice for the lunch boxThe following vitamins and minerals are ideal for a balanced lunch box:

Beta-carotene, e.g. found in carrots Vitamin A, Vitamin B 12 and folic acid, which are present in eggs and dairy products. Vitamin B 1, important for nerve metabolism and present e.g. in sunflower seeds and wheat germ Vitamin B 6 is found in bananas Magnesium, for which mineral water (note information on the bottle) and nuts are the best sources.

Wholegrain can taste good too

Children are reluctant to reach for wholemeal bread because it is less juicy than, for example, conventional grey bread. Nevertheless, it is still possible to find the right bread for the break. You should look for finely ground bread that is fresh and juicy. Alternatively, you can also look for new varieties baked with apples or carrots. By the way: "Vollkorn" and the designation "mit vollen Körnern" are not the same thing. The latter often contains only sunflower seeds or other grains added to white flour. You can also make the bread juicier through toppings by using, for example, quark or cream cheese, which also provide essential vitamins.

Wraps
Wraps are a great option, as they are easy to prepare and offer variety.

 

Lunch sandwich skewers
Create a skewer using small bread pieces, cheese cubes, radishes, and rolled turkey breast. Wooden skewers for this are available in any supermarket and popular with children.

 

Little extras
Add little extras such as trail mix, dried fruits, or whole grain biscuits to make the lunch box perfect.

 

Drinking bottle
Don't forget to pack a drinking bottle filled with mineral water, herbal tea, or fruit spritzer to ensure that children stay well hydrated.
