Preparation – step by step:

  1. Preparation is key: Rinse chicken breast under cold water, pat dry and cut into bite-sized cubes (approx. 2 cm). Peel onions and cut into coarse pieces. Clean mushrooms and remove dry stalk ends.
  2. Freshness brings colour: Wash tomatoes and courgette, cut courgette into slices approx. 1 cm thick. Halve the peppers, remove seeds and white inner membranes, then cut into pieces. Cut bacon into strips and roll into small rolls.
  3. Prepare the aromas: Wash thyme and rosemary, shake dry and roughly chop the leaves.
  4. Assemble the skewers: Thread all ingredients alternately onto wooden skewers – feel free to mix creatively, e.g. chicken, courgette, bacon, tomato, pepper, mushroom, onion.
  5. Season & marinate: Place the skewers on a large platter, drizzle with olive oil. Season with pepper and salt and sprinkle generously with the chopped herbs.
  6. Onto the grill: Grill the skewers on direct heat on all sides – approx. 8–12 minutes – until the meat is cooked and the bacon crispy.
